About a week ago I wrote a post about Hyrum using the potty (I just posted it today, however). I am happy to report that despite a very bad virus that knocked me off my feet and has affected my children in one form or another that Hyrum continues to impress us with using the bathroom. Since Sunday, he's spent most of the day with dry underwear or a dry diaper (he only likes to wear underwear on the days that Michael is home). He comes to us and tells us that he needs to pee or poop and then begins to strip. Oddly, he now will only use the potty if he's as naked as a jay bird, but hey, whatever works for him works for me. Not having to change a dirty diaper or even a wet one for that matter is like manna from heaven for me. I'm hoping for continued success.

Ground Breaking News!!!!
So if you have read my blog even a couple times, you'll understand that potty training makes me shake and tremble and feel sick inside. At the age of 3 years and 3 months, Alden finally got it, but it wasn't an easy process. Thobe, who will be 5 in May, still struggles with potty proficiency. I have been dreading the potty training process with Hyrum and my unborn child; however, on Michael's birthday, Hyrum told us he wanted to pee in the potty, and guess what? He did it!!! I couldn't believe it. Hyrum isn't even 2 1/2 yet, and he's already successfully peed in the potty on many occasions, and he's pooped in the potty without me doing a single thing. I guess I sit him on the toilet when he says he needs to go, but I nor Michael has done much of anything else. I almost hate to write this because I'm worried I'll jinx myself, but I am thinking that it's possible that if I put forth a tiny bit of effort, that Hyrum, my maniac child, may possibly be completely potty trained before the new baby is born. I ask all of you to please keep your fingers crossed for me.
Speaking of Hyrum, he has recently started saying, "I don't think so" when someone asks him a question. I'm so sad that my video camera is broken because I desperately want to record him saying this. I first realized that he said this yesterday when we were watching Mickey Mouse Club House. When Mickey comes on and says, "Would you like to come inside my club house?" Hyrum usually says no because that's what Alden always says. Yesterday though he said, "No, I don't think so." I laughed and laughed and laughed. The best was later that day though when we had the missionaries over for dinner. Hyrum's favorite plate is his Wall-E plate that we got him for Christmas. Elder Sanchez, one of the Elder's serving here in Lima, said, "Oh Wall-E! Hyrum can I eat on your Wall-E plate?" Hyrum looked up at him in all seriousness, shook his head, and said, "I don't think so." What a nut!
